ABOUT THE SHOW: Seeing how much their wives enjoy watching male strippers during their "Girls' Night Out," unemployed steelworkers in Buffalo, New York come up with a bold way to make some quick cash. In the process they find renewed self-esteem, the importance of friendship and the ability to have fun.
Cast of Full Monty
Gray Hawks (Jerry) A graduate of Catawba College with degrees in English Literature and Theatre, Gray has performed in dozens of shows in Wilmington the past 15 years. He’s happy to be performing once again in “The Full Monty” with all his good friends. Favorite roles include, Freddy in “Dirty Rotten Scoundrels”, Jamie in “The Last 5 Years”, Jesus in “Reefer Madness”, Leo in “Chapter Two”, Hamlet in “Hamlet”, and Seymour in “The Little Shop Of Horrors.” Recent projects include several local short films, and a small part in the new Colin Firth and Emily Blunt movie, "Arthur Newman, Golf Pro."
Anthony David Lawson (Dave) Anthony David Lawson has been acting since he was 16 years old and has been performing on the stages of Wilmington for the past 10 years. Having enjoyed the opportunity to portray such characters as Max Bialystock (The Producers), Uncle Ernie (Tommy) and The Narrator (Reefer Madness/Rocky Horror Show) has made his dream of acting an exciting and fulfilling one. His recent foray into the world of writing has produced the well recieved "The Title of the Play" and the recently workshopped "Blue Velvet: The Musical". He is thrilled to play the role of Dave once again.
Caitlin Becka (Pam) Caitlin Becka is really excited to be involved in letting it all go for The Full Monty! Some of her favorite City Stage credits include Velma in Chicago, Magenta in Rocky Horror Show, and Jenny in Three Penny Opera. Thanks to Chiaki and Justin for their passion, to the cast for being so darn wonderful, and to Tre and my Mommacita for all their love and support. Enjoy the show...ALL of it!
Carson Capps (Vicki) is very excited to return to the stage in Full Monty, making her City Stage debut and choreographing her first strip tease! B'way: Wicked (Witch's mother) LA/Nat'l: Wicked, Footloose, A Chorus Line, Anything Goes, etc. Comm/TV: OLTL, Today Show, Mike's Hard Lemonade, ESPN, Toys R'Us. Teacher at Dreams of Wilmington. Momma to her awesome 2 yr old, Jake. A huge shout out to Chiaki and Justin for taking a chance on me this season. Carson firmly supports anyone willing to take it all off onstage....Enjoy and LET IT GO!
Barbara Weetman (Jeanette) After living and working in Los Angeles for many years, Barbara Weetman moved to Wilmington where she has continued to enjoy employment in the entertainment industry. Local theater credits include Dinner with Friends, The Beauty Queen of Leenane, Julius Ceasar, Zombie Attack, Four Dogs and a Bone, and The Rabbit Hole. A few of her television credits are roles in Surface, Dawson’s Creek, One Tree Hill, and the HBO series Little Britian. Film work includes The Notebook, Divine Secrets of the Ya Ya Sisterhood, Nailed, A Good Old Fashioned Orgy, Provinces of Night, and Plastic Bag- which just premiered at the Venice Film Festival and then played at the New York Film Festival. Directing credits include Sight Unseen, Into the Woods, and Pot Mom.
Hunter Wyatt (Estelle) Hunter Wyatt is currently pursuing a double-major in Music and Theatre at the University of North Carolina at Wilmington. This is her City Stage debut, and she is very excited to be here. Hunter would like to thank her parents and friends for their ongoing support, and everyone at City Stage for giving her this wonderful opportunity.
Robert Hood (Buddy) is a graduate of Fork Union Military Academy (college preparatory school), NC State University (BA) and NCCU (JD). He is thrilled to back for his 16th show at City Stage. Rob would especially like to thank Chiaki and Justin for the opportunity to participate in their productions. He practices law in six counties in Southeast NC and is a member of the Board of Directors of his HOA and a no-kill animal shelter in Ocean Isle Beach (www.cattailsnc.org).
Beth Swindell (Susan) is thrilled to be a part of another wonderful City Stage show. You may have seen her recently in productions like HAIRSPRAY, THE BEST LITTLE WHOREHOUSE IN TEXAS, THE MADNESS OF MAY, ANYTHING GOES, A LITTLE NIGHT MUSIC, THE PRODUCERS, THE ROCKY HORROR SHOW, and BEAUTY AND THE BEAST. She would like to say a special thank you to Chiaki, Justin, and Carson for their support and encouragement over the years. This show is literally a true "family affair", and she can't thank the cast and crew enough for such an amazing and memorable experience. "I am truly blessed by the talent and friendship that surrounds me every time I step on stage with you all!"
Lauren Mazzola (Joanie) Lauren is super excited to make her City Stage debut! Some of her past credits include The Magic Flute (Queen of the Night), Sweeney Todd (the Beggar woman), and The Sound of Music (Sister Margareta). She would like to thank her fellow cast and crew for making this a fantastic experience.
Henry Philip Blanton (Teddy) Henry Philip Blanton's recent roles include Peachy in The Last Night of Ballyhoo, Goldberg in The Birthday Party, and Alex in The Little Dog Laughed. He also performs as a multi-instrumentalist in the local bands Justin Lacy and the Swimming Machine, King Beard and SWTHRT. Having recently graduated from UNCW with a degree in English literature, he plans to attend graduate school to spend innumerable hours psychoanalyzing Herman Melville.
Erik Maasch (Gary) Erik is thrilled to take part in his first production with City Stage. His past credits include Nicely Nicely (Guys and Dolls), Mysterious Man (Into the Woods) and the Modern Major General (Pirates of Penzance). He'd like to thanks his fellow cast mates and crew for making his first time a great experience!
Jason Aycock (Malcolm) Jason is excited to be a part of The Full Monty once again. Jason made his CityStage debut in 2007 as a member of the Full Monty cast playing the rolls of Reg, Tony, & Repo Man #1. He's proud to take on the role of Malcom but in no way thinks he can fill the shoes of former Malcom, Brett Van Acker. Jason has only done two other shows for a second time, Santaland Diaries with CityStage and Anything Goes with OHTC. He's had the pleasure of doing both with his incomparable fiance, Heather Setzler! Only 3 more months babe!
Michael Walton Jones (Harold) Michael has been involved in Wilmington theater since 1990. Audiences have seen him in a variety of roles including Jesus in Jesus Christ Superstar, Sheriff Dodd / The Best Little Whorehouse in Texas, Billy Flynn / Chicago, James Leeds / Children of a Lesser God, John Proctor / The Crucible, Tilden / Buried Child & as Harold in The Full Monty. He has directed Someone Who'll Watch Over Me, Jekyll & Hyde, Big: The Musical, Oliver & Ragtime for The Thalian Association and The Who's Tommy For City Stage. “It's a privilege to work with such an accomplished cast & crew and a rare opportunity to be able to recreate one of my favorite roles in this production of The Full Monty. Heather Setzler (Georgie) is happy to be allowed to play with City Stage once again! Previous shows with the company include Wild Party (Queenie), Great American Trailer Park: The Musical (Lin), Santaland Diaries (a Ho), and Sweeney Todd (Joanna). When not on stage, Heather likes to report about theatre in her First Act segment on WECT. She also enjoys spending time with her fiance who is making his return to Full Monty, this time as Malcolm. Don't look too hard at him in that last scene, ladies. He's mine!
Faith Watkins (Dolores) An avid singer and dancer, Faith Watkins is thrilled to debut her acting talents with City Stage. She is the owner of Bombshell Brides, an on-location bridal hair and makeup service in NC and SC. A former pre-law student turned cosmetologist, she enjoys any creative outlet that she can find. Some of her past ventures include singing with the North Carolina Symphony, the Wilmington Symphony Orchestra, and dancing in Studio One's S1 Crew. She would like to thank her fiance, Dustin, for cooking his own dinner while she was at nightly rehearsals, and her grandmother, Jan, for passing on such a passion for the arts.
Bryan Cournoyer (Reg) makes his return to the stage after a sabbatical of studying comedy abroad and looks forward to being more deeply involved in the local theatre scene. By chasing thrills through the cities of Memphis, TN, Lewisburg, WV, Edinburgh, Scotland, UK, Louisville, KY and stand-up in the seedy, non-smoke-filled clubs of Los Angeles, CA, Bryan has landed here, right in your lap and hungry for your laughs in the great Port City. After all of the beautiful scenery, obscure adventures and fantastic people, he feels that it’s so nice to be genuinely welcomed and comfortable in calling the community of Wilmington his home.
Alex Wharff (Ethan) is thrilled to be doing the Full Monty again, especially with such a wonderful and talented cast of both familiar and new faces! He’s been lucky enough over the last *ahem* years in Wilmington to play a wide range of characters, include Robert in Betrayal, Teddy in When You Comin’ Back, Red Ryder?, Dexter in The Philadelphia Story, Rocky in The Rocky Horror Picture Show, and Pip/Theo in Three Days of Rain. Many thanks to the veterans and newbies in this production and, most of all, to his wonderful wife Katherine for being who she is. Much lovin’ on your head, sweetie!
Logan Mack (Nathan) Logan Mack is excited to be part of The Full Monty. Fresh off the the film 11:11, he couldn't have asked for more than to be working with the amazing cast and crew at City Stage. It's like a dream come true.
Phillip Lynch (Noah “Horse”) Phillip Lynch is so excited be a part of City Stage one more time playing the role of Noah "Horse" in The Full Monty. Originally from Fayetteville, NC, Phillip is currently pursuing a BFA in Acting from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro. Some of his favorite roles include Tom "Collins" in RENT, Macheath "Mack the Knife" in The Threepenny Opera, Hud in HAIR,Jim in Porgy & Bess, Bamatabois in Les Miserables, Sir Harry in Once Upon a Mattress, Honey "Camden" Brown in Member of the Wedding, and Ms. White in Clue: the Musical. He would like to thank Justin and Chiaki for such a wonderful opportunity, the cast of the Full Monty for being so supporting and welcoming, as well as all his family, theatre family, and friends for all of their support.
