Don H. Baker
Director
Don H. Baker grew up in the Virginia mountains and was the Founding Director of two nationally known rural theaters (Roadside Theater, a part of Appalshop, Whitesburg, KY, and Lime Kiln Arts, Lexington, VA). He has served on the National Endowment for the Arts Theater Panel both as a panelist and a site evaluator. Until moving to Wilmington in 1995, his work focused on defining where he lived. Since here, it has shifted to here - to small roles in film (Runaway Jury, Ya-Ya Sisterhood, Soldier’s Daughter Never Cries, etc) and to some acting and directing for City Stage (Rocky three times, Sweeny Todd, Diviners, Superstar, etc). He has wanted to direct this show since 1966.
Chiaki Ito
Music Director/Producer
Chiaki Ito is a graduate of NC School of the Arts (high school), UNC-CH (BA), Univ. of Guam (M. Ed.) and Univ. of SC (JD). She has music directed or been involved with approximately 70 shows in the past 11 years. Favorites include Hedwig, Bat Boy, Tommy and The Last 5 Years and most recently, Jesus Christ Superstar and The Rocky Horror Show (for which she just recently was named Best Music Director by the Independent in Raleigh, NC). Chiaki practices law in New Hanover County. She enjoys training for triathlons, spending time with her dog, Elvis.
Kevin Green
Choreographer
Kevin Green is a graduate of NC School of the Arts (BFA in Dance, 2008). He is the artistic director and co-founder of Techmoja Dance and Theatre Company, LLC. His directing credits include West Side Story, Dreamgirls, The Wiz, The House that Gordy Built, Jesus Christ Superstar and Hairspray. He has also choreographed numerous shows, including, RENT, The Wild Party, The Great American Trailer Park, Annie, The Rocky Horror Show and High School Musical.
Susanna Douthit
Costumer
Susanna has worked as a costume designer for several decades. Her work has been seen on the National Theater of the Deaf, Dance Through Time, Smuin Ballet, and Brian Boitano, Olympic winning figure skater. She recently relocated from San Francisco where she designed for Festival Opera, Chanticleer, Access Theater, Word for Word, Traveling Jewish Theater, Stephen Pelton Dance Theater, Robert Moses Kin, and Mark Foehringer Dance Project|SF. Her work has been seen in St Petersburg, Berlin, London and her most recent tour on the Nacional Ballet de Peru, in Peru. She has also created giant puppets for the San Francisco Pride Parade, the Santa Barbara Summer Solstice Parade, and the International Soccer League. Susanna is excited to be lending her talents to City Stage.
